Grandi Navi Veloci was founded in 1991 thanks to the skills and intuition of Aldo Grimaldi, who came up with a totally new concept for transporting goods, passengers and cars with the creation of cruise ferries, which ceased to be mere ferries and became fully fledged cruise ships for sailing within the Mediterranean.

To date, the GNV fleet includes 10 ships operating in the areas of: transport of passengers with their own cars, goods transport, cruises and week-end formulae and corporate meetings and conferences.
